24th of July Weekend

So we ended up having the kids for the 24th of July holiday weekend. With Ry just getting diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy we decided to spend the night before the holiday doing what he wanted. When asked he told us that he wanted fireworks so I took him to the store to get some. He was so excited... Lilly was a bit scared by them. We had a bbq and Lacey's brother Jaxon came to it and also his cousin Jacob. After dinner we went and did a few fireworks while we waited for it to get dark and for Grandma Judy and Torrie to come over. Ry LOVED watching the fireworks. His face was priceless!

On the 24th of July we ended up going to the Emerson Drive concert at the SCERA Shell. I was excited to see the concert! We decided to get there early to make sure that we got the seats that my mom loves! We ended up being the first in line, which was a first. After getting seated and while we were waiting for the concert to start we decided to take pictures of us girls. It was so fun to have Yolana here visiting from Australia and join us in our fun. Somehow whenever we go to concerts we end up sitting by weird people... this concert was no exception. We spent a lot of time laughing at the people in front of us who were doing strange things. We did take their picture but I figured I would be nice and not post it just in case.... At the end of the concert we were able to meet the band and get their autographs. I was quite disappointed when we were told that we weren't able to take pictures due to time... However I did get to meet and talk with the guys in the band which was AWESOME!

Orem Owlz Baseball Game

So last night my family decided to have some fun and attend a baseball game with Yolana (Dion's older sister). I love going to the games! Our neighbors ended up being there as well and I ended up spending more time watching the cute little kids running all over the place.

Rykert...

My nephew Ry went to the doctor to have tests done because he had been complaining about his tummy. Kim wanted to make sure that he did not have the same thing that ran through her family (celiac)... In the end the test came back negative, which was a relief to the family however another test came back with bad results. These test results are positive for Muscular Dystrophy. He will be going to a specialist to find out exactly which kind he has on Aug. 20th... however it looks like he has one of the worst kinds. If this is the case then there is a good chance that he will end up in a wheelchair by the time he is around 10. The life expectancy for this is about 20 years... which has been hard for us to hear. We will know more about everything on the 20th... Once we know more we are going to start doing fundraising for him. Ammon has started a webpage for it.... If interested in learning more about things you can see that. I am going to start a blog for it and keep people updated that way. Kim has also started one... Click here to see her blog.

Hiking to Donut Falls...

So I decided to spend the day today hiking with Kim and the kids. She had invited me to hike up to Donut Falls with them. I was so excited to spend time with them and quickly agreed. They came and picked me up and off we went to the canyon. Kim had told me to make sure that I brought some shoes that would be okay getting wet because there would be water. That made me really nervous since I can't swim but also figure if we were bringing the kids it shouldn't be too bad. We took the kids to a point and then left them with Kim's brother Brandon and sister Heidi so that we could hike to the top of the falls. That was pretty scary since we were just climbing up on the rocks. However it was totally worth it though. The view was amazing!
