Thankful Thursday...

I am grateful for the opportunity I have to attend classes at the Institute. Since graduating from high school I have had a hard time getting myself to sign up and attend classes. This past school year I have made a goal to graduate from Institute. Last semester I took 2 classes, both of which I loved. I took a Dating and Courtship class and Family History Basics. It is the first time ever that I have signed up and attended class nearly every single time. This semester I have signed up for 3 classes for credit and then 1 that I plan on sitting in on. I am getting credit for Teachings of Thomas S. Monson, Book of Revelations and the 2nd half of the Book of Mormon. I am sitting in on Family History with a different teacher. I am loving my classes this semester just as much as the ones I took last semester! In the few classes we have had so far I have learned so much. I have some amazing teachers!

Thankful Thursday...

I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to work on genealogy. I love getting to know each of my ancestors better! I love it so much that this is what I plan on doing with the rest of my life!

Quote of the Week...

Austin: Sam! Okay, I know you think I'm just some...
Sam: Coward? Phony?
Austin: Okay, just listen.
Sam: No, you listen. You turned out to be exactly who I thought you were. I never pretended to be somebody else. It's been me all along. And it was me who was hurt in front of everybody. Look, I didn't come here to yell at you, okay? I know what it feels like to be afraid to show who you are. I was. But not anymore. And the thing is, I don't care what people think about me... because I believe in myself. And I know that things are gonna be okay. But even though I have no family, and no job, and no money for college... it's you that I feel sorry for. I know that guy that sent those emails is somewhere inside of you, but, I can't wait for him... because waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought. Useless and disappointing.

Confessions...

I am officially diagnosing myself with Obesophobia, which is the fear of gaining weight. Over the last couple years this fear has increased. I cringe when I think of myself putting on weight and hate the fact that I have put on 20 pounds since the beginning of the summer. Those are 20 pounds that I really do not need on me and I criticize myself on a daily basis. While in high school I slightly had a problem with this and began having a few anorexic tendencies, which I was able to overcome but every time I started feeling down, these tendencies would magically appear again. While being married I managed to go from 105 pounds up to 150 pounds. No matter what I did, I could not get the weight off. On a daily basis Sean would criticize this weight and constantly put me down for being fat. I am pretty sure that this is what has caused me to have this phobia. It was pretty amazing that within a few weeks of being divorced, I somehow managed to go from 150 pounds all the way down to 100! I loved the way I looked! Looks like I am going to have to work really hard to shed this new weight...

Thankful Thursday...

I am so grateful for the Temple... The road for me to get to this amazing place was full of obstacles. While I struggled for years to get this opportunity, it made the experience all the more worth it. I can remember while living down in St. George, going and spending hours on the Temple grounds, feeling the peace of the Holy Spirit. These trips kept me focus on my goal to get to the Temple. It seems like just yesterday that I went through for the first time. I can hardly believe that in a month it will be the two year anniversary of my first time!

It's That Time of Year...

It's amazing how every year at this time I wind up sick. I went to work yesterday feeling just great, came home feeling really frustrated (like normal) and then last night I laid down to watch the first night of American Idol and suddenly my nose is completely stuffed and my throat is so swollen that I can hardly swallow... soon my cold will turn into a major sinus infection and from there bronchitis. I can tell you exactly what happens, because it happens the same each time. Not only that but I have been having problems breathing, thanks to my new found asthma problems and the air quality here is so poor that I shouldn't even be going outside. Oh, what a life!

Quote of the Week...

Never trust a guy who smells better than you do.

Girls Night...

Last night we decided that we needed to get out and have fun with the girls. We were planning on going to a movie, going out to eat and then to the UVU Basketball game, but Ammon dropped his kids off around noon and disappeared and we didn't hear from him for the rest of the night. We quickly changed our plans around and decided just to go to the basketball game. My mother told us that she would watch the kids for us (I was just planning on taking them along)... So off we went to the game. It was quite the game. The team that we played against played very aggressively. One of the guys knocked one of our players pretty hard. We ended up winning the game 80-70! It was good to get out and spend time with the girls!Whitney, Jorrie and Cori (Adriane is hiding next to Cori) watching the basketball game...The boys playing...(Number 15 is Tyray and 21 is Jourdain)Ron came over to say hi to us and Whitney decided to get a picture...
The cheerleaders and some of the kids doing the Chicken Dance...The boys during one of the timeouts...(10 is Ryan Toolson, 50 is Brett, 14 is Jordan and 21 Jourdain)...During halftime they did a basketball game with some of the mascots. We took a few pictures of them coming out and then videotaped the game...

Baby Wrestling...

Ry and Lilly have a new game that they play. They begin by clapping their hands and then they begin to wrestle. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen... However, Lilly sometimes has a hard time with her brother beating her and will begin to cry....

What a Week...

Oh what a week I have had! I have been struggling some at work.... Last semester was the worst semester I have had with staff that did not want to help me what so ever, and yet they somehow ended up getting all the hours they could get. So work study positions have finally come! I just hired a bunch of new employees but when hiring new employees that means I have a lot of training to do. How is it that I am allowed to only work 29 hours a week at the most and somehow I end up working over 50? I have yet to figure this out... How is it that on a Friday, I end up working from 8 in the morning until 7 at night and still not have everything done that I planned on having done? Anyway... this is my vent about a job that I have had way too long! Hopefully things will change soon!

Friday's Favorites...

Favorite Actresses Throughout my Life...

I have loved Meg Ryan since I first remember seeing her. I have watched many of her movies since. Some of the movies of her that I have seen are: Top Gun, When Harry Met Sally, Joe Versus the Volcano, Sleepless in Seattle, IQ, French Kiss, Anastasia, City of Angels, You've Got Mail, Hanging Up, Kate and Leopold and In the Land of Women.

I first saw Katie Holmes on Dawson's Creek. She quickly became my favorite character. For some reason I totally understood the character of Joey Potter, even though my life and her life were nothing alike. I watched every episode of the show. Since then I have watched her in other movies.... Some of her movies that I have watched are: Teaching Mrs. Tingle, First Daughter, Batman Begins, and Mad Money.

The first time that I really remember seeing Kate Hudson was when I went and watched the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I have also seen her in a few movies. Some of them are: Alex and Emma, Raising Helen, Fool's Gold and Bride Wars.

I can remember when I was younger, watching the tv show "All That". I can also remember seeing Amanda on the show and thinking she was crazy. I am really impressed with how she has turned out and I love watching her on shows and on movies now days. Some of her shows that I have seen are: All That, The Amanda Show, Big Fat Liar, What a Girl Wants, She's the Man, What I Like About You, Hairspray and Sydney White.

I became acquainted with Lindsay Hartley when my sisters introduced me to the Soap "Passions". In the show she plays Theresa Lopez Fitzgerald, a teenaged girl in love with Ethan Crane. As the show goes on, her love for Ethan continues but is continually put to the test. In the end of the show she finally ends up with the love of her life.

In the past year or so, I have become addicted to the tv show "The Hills". I love Lauren Conrad! I have seen every episode that she is in of "Laguna Beach" and have also seen every episode of "The Hills". I also think that her and Brody are so cute together!

Thankful Thursday...

This happens to be one of my all time favorite pictures of Christ. This week I am grateful for the atonement. The atonement has played a major role in my life and I cannot express how grateful I am for it! Through Christ's selfless act I am able to repent of all the mistakes I have made (which there have been plenty) and he has also made it possible for me to live with my family for eternity!

Friday's Favorites....

Favorite Actors Throughout My Life:
During the summer after my sophomore year of high school my best friend Brenna and I went through a Star Wars phase. I hadn't seen the movies since I was really little and so in a way it was like I was watching them for the first time. I quickly "fell in love" with Hans Solo. From Star Wars I moved onto watching other movies Harrison Ford starred in.... (Indiana Jones, Fugitive, Clear and Present Danger, the list goes on and on...) I will say however that there were a few of his movies that I struggled with. I really didn't like the movie What Lies Beneath because Harrison Ford just does not make a good villain. The movie that upset me the most was Witness. Harrison plays the role of a cop who goes into hiding to save a young widow and her young son. This widow happens to be an Amish woman. He goes and blends into the Amish community with them. The story goes on and the killer gets caught and in the end Harrison leaves.... That was not supposed to happen!

I can still remember seeing the preview for "Dawson's Creek" the new show on the WB. It happened during my junior year of high school. I quickly became obsessed with this show and watched it on a weekly basis. I thought that Dawson was the most amazing guy! Half way through the show my views turned and Pacey became the guy for me. I have seen every episode of this show and I actually own all but one season, all because of two of my favorite actors during my junior and senior years of high school.

Around the time that the movie 10 Things I Hate About You came out into theaters I started liking one of the main actors of that movie. I can remember the summer that it was at Movies 8, I went and watched it every day for weeks. I also started watching the TV show 3rd Rock from the Sun because of him...

This man is one that I still absolutely love! When I was dating Tyler all those many years ago, we went to the movie Pearl Harbor and I was introduced to Josh Hartnett. I fell in love with him and with the movie Pearl Harbor... oh and dog tags! Over the next few years I went through a major Josh Hartnett phase, probably up until Sean tried to ban me from watching anything with him in it. Up until that point I had watched every movie he was in.

While I was dating Sean , the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days came out. Somehow I convinced him to take me to it. While I had seen him in a few other movies, this movie sealed the deal. I also love him in The Wedding Planner...

This is one of the many actors introduced to me by my sisters. I had seen him on Dawson's Creek but I honestly paid little attention to him, except to think what a jerk he was on that show. My sister Whitney became obsessed with the tv show One Tree Hill. I would watch it every once in a while, mainly when I was over at my family's house hanging out. I didn't get into the show until about 2 years ago. Now I too am obsessed! I absolutely love him in A Cinderella Story!
After moving home a few summers ago my two sister got me obsessed with the TV show Passions. Every summer they would watch this show on a daily basis... You have got to love soaps! One day I sat down to watch with them and soon I was hooked... They have some of the hottest men on tv! I was really sad when Passions went to Direct TV. The two actors above are Luis and Ethan from Passions.

This is Shane Kippel, one of my newest favorite actors. Once again my sister Whitney led me to him. She has been watching a show called Degrassi and soon I followed after her and now have seen most of the episodes. Shane plays a guy named Gavin who goes by "Skinner". I am not sure what it is but this guy has won my approval...

There have been many other actors that I have absolutely loved, but here are just a few.

My first Thankful Thursday....

With today being New Years I have decided to post a weekly blog called Thankful Thursday. In this blog I will pick something out that I am thankful for. This week I am thankful for:

Glitter Graphics Maker & MySpace Layouts

So long 2008! Hopefully 2009 proves to be a better year!

New Years Resolutions...

For the past few years I have been trying to "avoid" making any New Year's Resolutions because I know that I am just going to break them. This year I have decided to refocus myself and there are a few things that I am going to work on. First off I am going to do my best to keep my blog better updated. I figure I will write weekly posts... in doing this I really hope to "find myself" this year. I am getting tired of not really knowing me anymore. Also, this year I am dedicating myself to service, but not just any service. I am dedicating myself to help those who have passed on. Genealogy has been a major part of my life for some time, this year I am actually going to do something more with it. Stay tuned to see how things go!
