I have decided to get myself back doing things to get my life where I want it. I just started taking a class at school called "7 Habits of Highly Effective People". I have been to the class twice now and today we watched a video. How many times do we give up before we really even get started? This video really got me thinking about how often I do that. It really is amazing what we are capable of doing...

Nicholas Sparks

Over the past couple days I have been reading a book by Nicholas Sparks called "Three Weeks with my Brother". It was one that I really wasn't looking forward to reading because it was a biography and I usually find those books semi boring unless they happen to be stories about my ancestors. From the very beginning I ended up being hooked! Besides reading books by James Patterson I have been hooked on Nicholas Sparks books. However I have a hard time with their endings because they are normally sad. However after reading this book I totally get why he writes the way he does. His life has been through all sorts of up and downs. His books are based off of things he went through. I would recommend this book to everyone. It really got me thinking about life and what is really important. It also got me thinking about how I really want to live life to the fullest and really do something with my life.

Interesting things...

Over the last couple days I have seen some really interesting things in our yard. We had this huge dandelion in our backyard. Cori and I saw it and I just had to take the picture before Cori took off with it and blew it out in the street.
Later on in the day I was out in the front yard and I saw these weird bugs on my mom's flowers. I thought they were really interesting. The body looks like a potato bug but they have the coloring of a lady bug. I tried taking pictures but they really didn't come out very clear. No one had ever seen them before. I finally decided to look them up because my mom was concerned they were eating her flowers or doing some sort of damage to them. I found out they are called seven spotted ladybug beetles. They eat stuff that harms the plants so I guess we will be keeping them...

Father's Day

Not very many people know that I really hate Father's Day since my dad passed away. It is so hard for me to celebrate this day when my dad isn't around. So this year for Father's Day I was feeling a bit down and decided to go and visit my dad. Lilly came home early from church and I decided to take her with me. She loves posing for the camera so we had a lot of fun walking around the cemetery and taking her picture. The cutest thing happened when she found a fake flower just laying on the ground. She told me that she wanted to give it to Pa. We walked back to his grave and she gave it to him and then kissed his grave. She told me that Pa was her best friend. Oh... and we found the missing graves!

Rainy Day Saturday and the Oremfest Parade...

So I am slightly behind on my blog but that is nothing new. Last Saturday was quite the day. I woke up just in time to watch the US/England World Cup game. I really enjoyed watching it and seeing the US do as well as they did. After the game was over I looked out my window and this is the view that I saw:Not too long after I took these picture I came down the stairs and this is what I saw:
Ry was looking out the window at the rain storm. Normally he gets really scared when it starts to rain because the thunder and lightning scare him. However this time he really got into it.

Later on in the afternoon Ammon invited me to come and join him, Lacey and the kids for the Oremfest parade. I decided to join them. While we were waiting for the parade to start Lilly really wanted to get her picture taken so we had some fun randomly taking her picture. Ry wasn't as excited for it but I did get a few of him. Lacey's younger brother Jaxon also joined us. It was so much fun! After the parade got over I took the two boys over to the carnival area while we were waiting for the fireworks to start. Ry really wanted to go over and see what it was all about and I couldn't resist his cute face. We went over and there was a dunking booth with a clown inside it. He was really loud and obnoxious but the two boys loved watching it. Ry would get super excited when someone would finally dunk him. Here are some of the pictures from the parade:

I really liked this picture! The flag that he has was broken and just hanging there. He got up on his firetruck and took it down and then raised it over his head. It was truly something I will never forget.
